INTRO
“the Q word: photojournalism meets international queer culture” is a solo photo exhibition by journalist/photographer Olivia Mayumi Moss, taking place at CoCoLo cafe (Nichome, Shinjuku, Tokyo) from 4 August – 6 September, 2009.
MESSAGE
Welcome to this unique exhibition of photographs taken in the UK, US and Japan. LGBT events such as film festivals and pride parades are critical in increasing visibility of queer culture and community in our world. From the US, I bring you photographs from Los Angeles, New York and Palm Springs (the Dinah Shore Weekend). And from the UK, I bring you shots of Manchester, Brighton and London (London Pride Parade, London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival). Please enjoy this rare chance to see the queer world through international eyes and thank you for visiting. – Olivia Mayumi Moss
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

She photographs and reports for the international queer film and culture web magazine SHATTERJAPAN.com, of which she is the Chief Editor. Passionate about increasing queer visibility and raising the profile of women in the arts, she is committed to building her international team of contributors for the magazine.
